Getting Here &Parking

The on-site car park has space for 120 cars, 10 bicycles and 3 coaches (evening only).

During the Gardens’ day time opening hours the car park is shared between the Birmingham Botanical Gardens visitors and event guests, meaning that the Gardens Car park is subject to very high demand.

In order to plan for this, we have outlined the following approach.

Events that overlap with day time opening hours are allocated an amount of car park spaces relating to the number of guests, with a maximum of 50 parking spaces reserved for event guests. The rest are made available to Gardens visitors.

Once these allocated parking spaces for event guests have been filled, guests should re-route and park off-site. Please note that if event guests park in the spaces allocated to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens visitors, this could result in a parking fine.

For evening events, we can – on occasion – offer exclusive use of the car park – bringing the total available spaces for evening events to 122. Please speak to a member of our sales team if you would like to roll this increased provision into your event package.

On occasion the exclusive use of the car park for your guests can be incorporated into your quote, dependant on the date and other activities happening and particularly for evening events.

These spaces are available on a first come first served basis, we cannot guarantee availability of parking for your event or reserve any spaces.

No. All event guests who use in the Botanical Gardens car park will need to register their car registration details on arrival.

This is done by entering the full registration into the tablet in the events entrance.

Event organisers are responsible for ensuring that their guests enter these details.

Failure to do this will result in a fine that cannot be waived.

The registration is valid for each individual event only.

Where possible, we highly recommend that guests arrive by public transport, taxi or car share.

Unfortunately, this is not something that we can currently offer. The parking registration system is only valid for the hours covering an event.

Birmingham Botanical Gardens is open for visitors for 363 days a year. As an independent charity, our day-to-day operations are supported by selling day admission tickets, and the income earned by our shop and café operations, as well as private events.

The car park is an essential part of ensuring that those visitors can arrive on site. We therefore need to manage this facility closely, around the clock.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

There are occasions where for practical reasons, crew or event organisers may need to leave vehicles on site. We will try to accommodate this where we can, but this must be agreed in advance with your venue point of contact and is judged entirely on a case by case basis. Any vehicles left are done so at the owners discretion and risk.
